Instructions:
- Composed of a mixture of lettuce mix and greens mix
- Best grown in rich, loamy soil with high organic matter
- Keep soil consistently moist throughout growing season
- Commonly planted in 30” wide beds, 6 rows with seeds spaced 1” apart
Pests:
- Aphids
- Leafminers
- Flea beetles
- Whiteflies
- Cabbage looper
- Diamondback moth
Diseases:
- Few diseases because crop does not reach maturity
Harvest:
- Harvest 3-5 weeks after seeding, and again in another 2-3 weeks
- Using lettuce knife, cut 1” above soil line
- Harvest early, before strong sun exposure
Post-Harvest:
- Double-wash in cold water to remove field heat and clean product
- Hydrocools during the washing process
- Store near 32 degrees Fahrenheit
- 14 day shelf life when properly handled
- Handle mix carefully to prevent bruising
