Instructions:
- Direct Seed
- Sow 15 seeds/ft., 1/4″ deep in 2″ wide bands in rows 18″ apart
- Mid October
- Planted in heated high tunnel
- Germination temperature between 50 and 80 degrees F
Insect Pests:
- Flea beetles (makes holes in leaves- use row cover to avoid)
- Aphids
- Cabbage worms
Diseases:
- Block rot (shouldn’t be issue with resistant- varieties)
- Avoid handling plants when wet, remove any infected plants
Harvest:
- Joi Choic
- Cut whole heads at soil level
- Pick after approximately 50 days
Post-Harvest:
- Remove any dirt
- Can be stored in refrigerator for up to 4 weeks
