Even in the age of COVID, the Field Production class at UNH was able to enjoy a field trip this semester to learn more about local agriculture. Fat Peach Farm in Madbury, NH graciously allowed a farm tour and visit to showcase all the exciting happenings of Spring!

Sugaring may be done for the year, but we enjoyed a brief peek into the sugar house as farm-owner Jennifer explained the benefits of using a reverse osmosis system.

We learned about the benefits of finding local markets, engaging with customers, and heard about growing lots and lots of garlic!

It was a perfect time to see the seed starting house in action.

Before heading out, we took a walk through the dome – an inviting outdoor space featuring perennials and seed starting area.

Many thanks to Fat Peach Farm!
