Today in class we planted some plugs! Here we have @micahs.music planting some dill. We’re also working on bok choy seedlings and salanova 😊🪴🥬🥗
We recently harvested Kale and Bok Choy from the high tunnels! Follow us to see what we grow next :)
Swing by Philbrook dining hall tonight for the Lunar New Year dinner and try some of our delicious Bok Choy! 🌱🌱🌱 @unhdining
Our wash station, located in the front of our heated high tunnel, got a makeover this fall! Gravel and plastic risers prevent mud build up and make for a lovely working environment 🚿
Winter is truly here and its getting cold! We set up row covers over the crops in our unheated high tunnel to prevent the freezing temperatures from damaging the plants. Swipe right to see before and after
We borrowed a BCS Walk-Behind-Tller from UNH owned Woodman Farm. This machine was made in Italy and tills ~12 inches into the soil. It is a lot easier than using a broad fork to break up the top layers and create our raised beds, but it should not be used on a regular basis because it can potentially compact the deeper layers of soil and prevent proper drainage.
